A Norwegian tent manufacturer established in 2019. The company's tents are inspired by the "Gamme" dwellings of the indigenous Sámi people of Scandinavia. The Sámi have used these dwellings to stay warm and safe in the harsh Norwegian environment. Their top-quality yet lightweight products are highly valued in Europe, the U.S., and Canada.
What is Nortent's craftsmanship?
Essentially connecting the tent to nature.
A big outdoor enthusiast since his teenage years, founder Kjetil Knudsen enlisted in the army at the age of 19 and experienced living in a tent in northern Norway and commanding survival techniques. As a result, the experience sparked a strong passion for nature in him.
After his discharge from the army, Kjetil began working as a mathematics teacher. Here, through the study of mathematics, he realized that many elements in nature are composed of geometric patterns. This learning led to the starting point of Nortent’s design: the idea that tools used in the outdoor field should harmonize and conform to nature.
This, coupled with the fact that he felt the gear he had been using was expensive and did not have the necessary specifications, led him to design a tent with a beautiful shape that would harmonize with nature, and also have the necessary elements for what he considered to be outdoor gear.
Nortent is a brand created by an outdoorsman with such an unusual background. Their products have beautiful geometric shapes that harmonize with nature and have the specifications to withstand the harsh Norwegian climate. Nortent’s research and development continue with the goal of designing the perfect outdoor gear.
