KIMAMA PRODUCTS

A cottage manufacturer born in Mimata-cho, Miyazaki Prefecture. They work together with people who do not fit into the modern employment system, and they make products carefully and at their own pace using industrial sewing machines. 100% of the sales, excluding expenses, are used to support children in need. While creating practical products that are easy to use and never get old, the company also raises questions about the way we work today.

What is KIMAMA PRODUCTS's craftsmanship?

Unrestrained manufacturing

The Community Design Lab was created by the Council of Social Welfare of the town of Mimata, Miyazaki Prefecture, with the aim of realizing a community-based symbiotic society. One of its activities, KIMAMA PRODUCTS, is an initiative to realize diverse work styles by creating products at will by people who do not fit into the modern employment system.

They produce an environmentally low-impact product line called “Shizaihaizai” using materials that would otherwise be disposed of by special three-dimensional sewing process. These environmentally friendly products are convenient to use and fun to look at, and have a strong presence in the exhibition and sales areas.

And there, you will find the phrase “work as you please.” They do not only offer products but also provide an opportunity for people to think about how to work in a diversified society, which is their unique value that no other brand can offer.

The products created without any restraint seem to be sending the message, “You don’t have to worry about anyone, just do what you want to do.”

Brand's Signature Gear

Roll Bag

This product spawned a new line of Shizaihaizai. It is made of strong and water-resistant surplus materials provided by companies that manufacture materials for the construction and agriculture/livestock industries. It is a highly durable product that can be used in outdoor scenes and 3 sizes are available for different uses. The water-repellent fabric can be used safely even in the rain.
